Warning about a website calling itself neighbourhood watch

Circulated on behalf of Leicestershire Police:

POLICE across the country are  issuing  a warning about a website calling itself neighbourhood watch.

The website, nhwo.co.uk, was launched on December 14 and we would like to  stress that it is not supported by the Neighbourhood and Home Watch Network (NHWN) which is the official national body representing ALL Neighbourhood Watch members in England & Wales.

The site pitches to Neighbourhood Watch members to register their scheme to obtain membership resources.  It sells a 'co-ordinators pack' at £39.99 which includes two street signs, stickers and a high visibility vest with Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator on the back.

Neighbourhood Watch stickers are supplied nationally at no cost to members and street signs are supplied in Leicestershire from only £6.50

Details of the  free national Neighbourhood Watch scheme can be found at www.ourwatch.org.uk

Anyone wishing to join or set up a scheme can register online at the official Police recognised website for  both the Leicestershire & Rutland  Neighbourhood Watch Associations at :
www.leicestershireneighbourhoodwatch.co.uk

IT IS TOTALLY  FREE TO BECOME A MEMBER OF  NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH IN LEICESTER, LEICESTERSHIRE AND RUTLAND
