Car Key Burglary
Sometime during Monday night a house on Market Street was forcibly entered. Car keys were removed and used to steal the owners high value vehicle. The vehicle was later found in Vine Close (off Howitts Rd). Did you notice anything unusual or suspicious in those locations, or elsewhere in the village, during Monday evening/night? Did you see anyone driving a distinctive Audi Quattro around the village? If so please pass on your information to the police on the 101 non-emergency number.
A timely reminder then to look after your keys! Don't leave them lying around, unattended, and in full view. Hide them or secure them.
Theft from a Parked Van
Sometime between 10pm on Saturday night and 11am on Sunday morning a van parked on Queen Street was broken into and a number of power tools stolen. There were similar incidents in Nether St, Harby and City Rd, Stathern. Again, if anyone saw anything unusual or suspicious in those locations, or elsewhere in the Vale, please contact the police on the 101 non-emergency number.
Another timely reminder not to leave valuable tools in vehicles overnight.
Please remember that the police cannot be everywhere to deter crime. The only way we can defeat thieves is through community action by:
- taking appropriate precautions to protect our property
- looking out for our neighbours
- being alert and informing the police of any suspicious or unusual activity
