The grain store & lean-to in the field north of Bottesford Railway Station were broken into on Saturday night. The thieves attempted to steal diesel, but were apparently unsuccessful. They did however cause considerable damage. Access was gained through the gate and along the track which joins Norrmanton Road after the railway crossing. Locals heard voices and noticed torchlights at about 11pm. This mirrors a similar raid on adjacent buildings earlier this year. If you heard or saw anything suspicious in, or around the village, on Saturday night please report it to the police on the non-emergency 101 number quoting crime no LM 00812124.
The diesel tank and the fuel have now been removed.
