Bottesford NHW Alert: Burglary in Long Bennington/Flood Risk

Burglary in Long Bennington

At 4pm on April 25th there was a sneak in burglary at a property in the Acklands Lane area of Long Bennington.
The offenders entered the property from an unlocked rear kitchen door where they made a search of the bedrooms before stealing two items of jewellery.
The offenders were described as two white males, mid teens, dark hair with tanned skin and both wearing dark blue anoraks and blue trousers.
The males were seen a short while later in the rear garden of a property in Church St and then left towards the Drury Park area of Long Bennington.
Please be alert to this type of opportunity theft and keep your property secure at all times. If you see two males fitting the descriptions in our villages please inform the police. Crime in progress - 999, suspicious activity - 101.

Flood Risk
The very heavy rain last night has focussed our attention on the storm drains. After a long period of low rainfall the sudden deluge may have washed mud and debris into them causing blockages. If you are aware of any drains blocked/overflowing please let us know so we can ensure the necessary action is taken to avoid more serious flooding in the event of further rainfall. We have been informed that the River Devon is currently up over the road by St Mary's Church.
