Bottesford NHW Alert: Suspicious Phone Call

A local resident has reported receiving a suspicious phone call from an unrecognised caller. The caller knew the resident's name but was unwilling to reveal the purpose of his call, except to say that he was running out of credit on his mobile phone and requested the resident to call him back. The resident declined the request and sometime later received a call asking if he would accept a reverse charge call which he also declined. The number that the call was made from is 0785 8096434.

 

This does not carry all the hallmarks of a malicious phone call but it is suspicious. If anyone else receives phone calls along these lines, or if by some chance recognises the number, could you please let NHW know. Our advice is always to be wary of unknown people making requests of you, especially ones involving any form of electronic technology.
