Theft from a Motor Vehicle in Bottesford

On Monday 3rd February 2014 at about 2000 hours a handbag and purse were stolen from a car parked outside the Scout Hut on Albert Street in Bottesford. The car window was broken to gain access. If anyone saw anything suspicious in this area please contact the police on the 101 non-emergency number.

Persistent Cold Caller - Harby

Between Friday 31st January and Monday 3rd February, a Harby resident was visited several times by a trader offering to lay a new driveway to the property. At the initial contact the house owner made it obvious they were not ready to have a new drive at the present time. The trader returned on Sunday and started marking slabs with yellow paint. Again the house owner stated the work was not to be carried out. The trader returned again on Monday stating he had hired machinery (£250) to remove the old slabs and had part paid (£150 ) of the cost, asking the house owner to pay the other(£100). This was refused and again the trader was told the work was not wanted. The trader then started to have an aggressive manner.

The male trader drove a White Transit Van, vehicle registration YR 59 JNY. No company markings on the van but had said the company was in the Saxondale area. Said his name was Luke. Age in 30's, hair dark on top and shaved at the sides. He gave the house owner a plain, yellow carbon copy invoice with just a mobile number – no company name, registration or VAT number.

All details have been passed to the police who advise not to buy any product at the door.
