Bottesford NHW Alert: Burglaries / Lost Purse / Cold Callers / Theft of Heating Oil and Catalytic Converters

Burglaries

Over the past 30 days we have seen a large number of Burglaries in the area!

We have had 10 Dwelling Burglaries, in the following locations:

Church Lane, Muston; Church Street, Scalford; Goadby Road, Waltham; Main Street, Harby  x 2; Dairy Lane, Hose; Church Lane, Long ClawsonMain Street, Saltby  x 2

There have also been 8 Burglary Other (such as garage, shed and outbuildings) in a variety of locations.

Unfortunately this means that we have some criminals coming to work on our area and we need to all work together to catch them. Any suspicious activity should be reported to 101 at the earliest opportunity. Could everybody please keep on top of security and look out for yourself and neighbours in the coming weeks and months.

If anyone has any queries or concerns then please may I suggest attending a local Beat Surgery or emailing the beat team on www.leics.police.uk , more details can be found under the Local Policing tab, then Melton Rural North Beat.

Lost Purse

A green purse/small bag was lost, possibly in or around The Bull, last Friday night. If anyone has found it please contact NHW.

Cold Callers

NHW has received reports of a group, possibly travellers, who are knocking on peoples doors asking if there are any jobs that need doing. Some people who have received these visits have also had things stolen from outside of their homes very shortly afterwards. Please report any such callers to the police promptly on the 101 non-emergency number.

Theft of Heating Oil and Catalytic Converters

Please be aware that we continue to receive reports from surrounding areas of thefts of these items . Please don't become complacent. Remain vigilant and report all suspicious activity to the police promptly.
