Bottesford NHW Alert: Attempts to Abduct Dogs - New Update

Further to our recent alert and the rumours circulating that police in Grantham have identified a possible suspect. We have now consulted with Grantham NHW who in turn have sought information from their local police colleagues. Neither NHW nor the police have any information to support this rumour. Consequently dog owners and other residents are advised to maintain their vigilance and continue to take precautionary measures to protect themselves and their dogs.

Lincs police included the following advice in their response to the request for information:

Ensure your dog is micro-chipped and check it still works at each visit to the vet. Try not to leave the dog unattended outside of the home, consider not taking a dog to the shops and leaving it outside alone. When out for walks, be aware and if you see any suspicious vehicles record the registration, likewise be suspicious about unknown people knocking at the door. Website www.dogtheftaction.com has useful information for dog owners.
