Break-In at Garage
The front doors of the garage on the High Street were forced early yesterday (Tuesday) morning. Neighbours raised the alarm at 6am. If anyone saw anything at about that time, or prior to it, please contact the police on the 101 non-emergency number.
Personal Safety
There is a report circulating in the Vale about a male in a car approaching a lone female and asking for money. This has not been reported to the police and may be an isolated incident with no ulterior motive. However, it is a good opportunity to remind residents about personal safety especially if you are out alone in isolated locations. Ensure that someone knows where you are going and how long you expect to be; take your mobile phone with you and make sure it is fully charged before leaving; be vigilant and avoid anyone acting suspiciously; be aware of alternative exit routes from your location and the shortest/fastest route back to populated areas; if you feel threatened don't hesitate to phone 999 and after reporting your location leave your phone switched on. Fortunately serious incidents of this kind are rare but if we are prepared for them we can deal with them more effectively and with better outcomes.
Lost Keys
Has anyone found a set of keys that have been lost somewhere between Hoopers Close and the "Spa Shop." If so please contact NHW (details below).
Phishing Emails - Barclays Bank
There is currently an email circulating claiming to be from Barclays Bank but originating in Brazil. Any email claiming to be your bank asking for personal information that they should already have or asking you to click on a link should be treated with the utmost caution. If you receive one visit or phone your bank to verify its status before taking any action.
