Dear all,
I hope that you forgive me for asking you to sign this, but I believe that having suffered 7 attacks, causing £15k of damagesto steal about £75 of copper pipes, plus the theft of a tenant's tools worth over £94k in the last 3 months, resulting in loss of the tenant, that we have every right to say that the scrap trade has lost its right to be independent. Scrap vehicles have been seen overtly recce-ing our premises before each of these incidents.
Our local church has had it lead stolen 5 times in the last 10 years. In one generation we are seeing the destruction of 2,000 years of history and our cultural heritage is being vandalised forever, for the gain of a reckless, disrespectful and selfish minority.
One step is to have the scrap trade regulated more and banning cash transactions is one way of making its use as a conduit for stolen goods more difficult. I would this invite you to sign the e-petition below.
Please also pass this on to as many people as possible to stop this leaching of our national resources. Thank you.
