Burglaries

I am pleased to report that the public are reporting suspicious people/activity to the police following the 3 burglaries at the week-end. Whilst the police pursue their enquiries it is important that we all remain extra vigilant and continue to keep the police informed of anything which looks suspicious. Until these criminals are apprehended the risk of further burglaries remains high, so please take sensible precautions:
  • Make sure all windows and doors are locked
  • If possible secure access to the rear of your property or other areas which are out of sight of neighbours or passers by
  • Don't leave house or car keys lying about in view or in obvious places
  • If the house is empty at night leave one or two lights on
  • Consider leaving the TV/radio on to give the impression that someone is at home
  • If you have an alarm make sure it is in working order and use it
Taking these precautions may well save you the distress and inconvenience of being burgled.
