Bottesford NHW Alert: Anthony Nolan Trust Door-to-Door Fundraising/Mobile Phone Found - Updates/Attempted Theft from a Parked Car

Anthony Nolan Trust Door-to-Door Fundraising
Melton Council have now confirmed that there is no permit in place for this activity. This leaves two possibilities: either the fund-raising is genuine but naive as to the legal requirements, or the activity is fraudulent. The Council is now pursuing this directly with the Trust.
In the meantime please do not provide these callers with any personal information or cash. If you do receive a caller claiming to be fundraising for this Trust please report it to the police on the non-emergency 101 number so that the individuals can be checked out.
If you have already donated cash or given your personal details to a doorstep caller you should contact the Anthony Nolan Trust directly. Depending on their response you might feel it appropriate to take steps to protect yourself from identity theft. Your own bank, Action Fraud and Experian (Credit Expert) can all advise on the necessary measures.

Mobile Phone Found
The mobile phone that was found in the Rutland Car Park on Saturday has now been reunited with its owner.

Attempted Theft from a Parked Car
Over the week-end a car parked on Walford Close was tampered with. It is believed that this was an attempt to steal either the catalytic converter or the alloy wheels. If anyone saw anything suspicious or knows anything about this, please contact the police on the non-emergency 101 number.
