Bottesford NHW Alert: Example of Fishing Email Currently Circulating

Please see below this example of a fishing email received by a local resident who has no accounts with Lloyds bank. Notice the originator's email address and the fact that the message is not personalised in any way. Both are strong indications that this is not a genuine email even if you are a Lloyds customer and responding to it could cause you considerable grief.

Subj: Please confirm your Online Banking account

Please confirm your Online Banking account

Confirming your account will give you full access to online Banking and all future notifications will be sent to this email address.
Once securely logged on to Lloyds Online Internet Banking, you’ll no longer need to use separate sign in details to manage these benefits. Of course, you’ll need to be registered for Lloyds Online Internet Banking to use this new feature and take care of your benefits online, because when this change takes place, direct access to this website will close

Yours sincerely,
