Three Land Rovers stolen in county
Police are appealing for information after three Land Rovers were stolen from across the county.
The first incident happened overnight between 22 and 23 December when a green Land Rover TD5 was stolen from a farm in Barkstone Lane, Bottesford.
During the same night a black Land Rover Defender was stolen from an address in Bridge Field in Kegworth. This vehicle has since been recovered in Cotgrave, Nottinghamshire.
The third incident happened overnight between 27 and 28 December when a khaki coloured Land Rover Defender was taken was a farm in Rempstone Road, Belton.
Officers are looking into the possibility that the incidents may be linked.
DC Darren Lewis said: "We are working hard to try and ascertain who is taking these vehicles and we would like the public's help. We would like to hear from anyone who has seen any suspicious activity in the areas where the incidents have taken place, or anyone who knows someone who has recently acquired a Land Rover.
"We would also like to hear from anyone who knows how the vehicles are being taken. In all of the above incidents the keys to the vehicles have not been stolen and there has been a clean entry to the vehicle.
"It may be that you have heard rumours, or whispers at the local pub. You may have thought nothing of it previously but it could help with our enquiries.
"We would also like to remind people to be extra vigilant and report any suspicious activity, incidents, or vehicles to the police. I would also urge all Land Rover owners to, where possible, keep their vehicle in a secure garage."
Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Lewis on 101* and follow the instructions to leave a message for an officer. When prompted key in their identification number 2886. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111
