Policing in 2012

You are warmly invited to one of a series of meetings with the Chair of the Police Authority and the Chief Constable of Leicestershire Police.

 

The meetings will enable us to explain more about the financial challenges to be faced in 2012-13 and hear your views.

Bottesford NHW Principal Co-ordinators Note: These are important meetings and it is crucial that our communities in the Vale are well represented. My understanding is that the police are facing the most serious budget situation in my lifetime and there are already rumours that front-line police officer posts will be lost. For that reason NHW is urging people to attend and to make their views known. Unfortunately the geographical distribution of the four meetings is not helpful to those of us in the Vale. Simply put there is no venue in the northern half of the county and Oakham being the nearest would involve Bottesford residents in a 50 mile round trip. We have made representations about this through our police contacts and are currently awaiting a response.
