Bottesford NHW Alert: Harlaxton Burglary and Reports of Suspicious Vehicles in Lincs / Scam Letters

Harlaxton Burglary and Reports of Suspicious Vehicles in Lincs

During the early hours of Sunday morning Harlaxton Social Club was broken into. A number of items have been stolen including a television, bottles of alcohol and money from the pool table. Extensive damage has been caused too.  Incident 346 of the 1st July refers.

Last night a suspicious vehicle was seen driving along a driveway to a farm with no lights on in the Boothby Pagnell area. The vehicle was similar size and shape to a Focus. It is possible that they were there to commit crime but were disturbed. A red Golf was seen in suspicious circumstances a week ago in the Stainby area, the vehicle and its occupants left at speed once they had been spotted.

Please remain vigilant and ensure all outbuildings and sheds are secure. Mark up any property to deter thefts, and to ensure that if it is lost/stolen and found by the police it can be identified and returned to its rightful owner.
Scam Letters

There appears to be a spate of scam letters arriving in the area. Many are similar in style offering to share funds left by deceased parties in bank accounts overseas (or similar) and all aimed at extracting bank details from the recipients "so that the proceeds can be transferred"!!! Most residents will be well aware that this is a scam, but we are concerned that elderly or vulnerable residents may not be so knowledgeable. If you have elderly or vulnerable relatives, friends or neighbours please keep an eye out for them and make sure they are aware of this risk.
