Bottesford NHW Alert: Attempted Robbery at Bottesford Co-Op - Police Request for Information

Yesterday evening at 8.18pm 3 males entered Bottesford Co-op wearing balaclavas and gloves carrying a large white builders merchants type sack (the type used for sand and gravel) with a Travis Perkins logo on.  One male jumped on the counter in an attempt to get to the cigarettes. The shop assistant pushed him back.  Another male then tried to get behind the counter via the staff entrance.  Again the assistant pushed him back.  All 3 males then left empty handed and went down the alley towards Walford Close.

It is not known what vehicle they were in.  Notts Police report they had a similar incident around 9pm in Sutton on Trent.  There have been several similar incidents over the last few days in all our bordering counties.

The police are asking for anyone who was in the Co-op, or in the vicinity of Queen Street and Walford Close, at that time and who saw anything which might relate to this crime to contact them on the non-emergency 101 number quoting crime reference LM/01970/14/7.
