***BURGLARY ALERT***
Residents we would unfortunately like to inform you 4 burglaries have taken place on the evening of Saturday 29th November 2014 between the hours of 3pm and 11:15pm across the rural south of Melton Mowbray, in the villages of Pickwell, Burrough on the Hill, Gaddesby and Knossington. As well as this we have suffered a Burglary Dwelling in Sproxton between Thursday and Saturday of this week.
These have included high value thefts from large detached dwellings. The suspects have used a number of methods to gain entry to properties. Entry has been gained via a first floor window on 2 occasions, one by using the victims own ladders and the other by climbing a drain pipe to access a flat roof area. The other 2 have occurred by forcing a rear ground floor window. Despite the homeowners being at home at some of these the burglaries, the suspects gone unnoticed and are still at large.
We would advise you to check the security of your homes and outbuildings and secure any tools which may enable further access to your home. For further advice please visit our website https://leics.police.uk where crime prevention advice can be found under the tab “advice and information.”
In the meantime if you see anything suspicious please call on 101, if you believe a crime is being committed please call on 999.
Kind Regards
Liam
