Bottesford NHW Alert: Attempted Abduction of Dogs in Bottesford / Theft of Heating Oil / Message from Farmwatch

Attempted Abduction of Dogs in Bottesford:

We have received reports of two men attempting to abduct Labrador dogs whilst being walked in the village yesterday. This attempt was thankfully unsuccessful but it is possible that further efforts to steal dogs will be made in this locality. The theft of dogs, particularly valuable pedigree dogs, is a growing crime across the country. They are usually stolen to order or to stock puppy farms. Dog owners are advised to be extra vigilant at this time of heightened risk. Keep your dogs close and do not leave them unsupervised in insecure locations including gardens and cars. Please take the necessary precautions to keep your treasured pets safe.

We are currently awaiting further information from the police.

Theft of Heating Oil:

The police are reporting the theft of heating oil from a house in Waltham on the Wolds some time in the last few weeks. Please stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the Police on 101 / 999 dependant on circumstances.
