Sometime between 6pm Friday and Sunday (assumed to be overnight Saturday) a mechanical digger was stolen from the building site on Belvoir Road, Bottesford. It was driven across the fields to the A52. If anyone saw this large vehicle being removed or saw anything suspicious in that area please inform the police on the non-emergency 101 number.
The alert was originally raised by local dog walkers and the police have expressed their gratitude to them for reporting it and allowing them to pursue enquiries earlier than would otherwise have been the case. Prompt reporting of suspicious activity gives the police the best opportunity to catch criminals in the act, or to anticipate and intervene in subsequent criminal activity.
